Dew claw broken?

Noticed this when I went to trim my dog’s nails. Looks like the quick is growing past the nail…or the nail broke?

I this something that could heal on its own or needs to be looked at/fixed by a vet? (I have an appointment scheduled regardless)

She was bitten pretty severely by a dog on that leg 2 months ago so I’m reluctant to have any other “operations” done for her sake.
